Give a Hoot, Don’t Pollute!
Happy Earth Month! As Earth Day approaches, it’s the perfect time to remember how fortunate we are to call Middletown home. Our town is a beautiful place to live, work, and play—thanks in large part to its natural surroundings. But preserving that beauty takes all of us.
Whether you’re walking along the beach, enjoying a local park, or just out for a stroll in your neighborhood, please take a moment to clean up after yourself. Even better—bring a bag and pick up a few pieces of litter along the way. If everyone does a little, we accomplish a lot.
This Earth Month, I’m proud to support efforts like Keep Little Rhody Litter Free, a statewide initiative launched by Governor and First Lady McKee. This program is working hard to reduce litter across all 39 cities and towns. Visit my website for how to take the pledge to make our community litter free!
Aquidneck Island Earth Week offers a full calendar of events throughout April, including community cleanups, plogging (jogging while picking up trash), rain barrel workshops, and more. These are fun, family-friendly ways to give back and make a difference.
Remember the words of Woodsy Owl – “Give a Hoot, Don’t Pollute!” and keep an eye out for Woodsy around town this Earth Month. Visit my “Middletown Clean” page for local resources to keep Middletown Clean, all year long.
